It caused a lot of trouble in my experience when students would use it because DVD Studio Pro had a learning curve. This meant that many DVD players would choke on playback.

It's my recollection that it encodes the Video as MPEG2 but leaves the audio uncompressed instead of compressing it as AC3. I was on with Apple Pro Apps support and asked why it would work in Mavericks and not under El Capitan and all I got was that it wasn't supported anymore, which didn't readily explain why a MOV file that QT sees the chapters on won't render under iDVD no matter the creation codec source or even coming from iMovie (older version under El Capitan) The real insult is having to run an old copy of OSX so that iDVD will be able to render the video. Don't know if there's any difference in the MyDVD app between the two. I have a Toast 14 Pro that I haven't loaded yet and will try. You can make an OK Menu with your own background. I do it this way whenever my DVD's need two or more seperate titles on them.

Of course only Toast will burn the DVD will somewhat customizable Menus. ( the insult is that FCP X won't see the chapter markers if you import it back into FCP X. If you export a file from FCPX with Chapter Marker enabled then both QT Player and Toast Titanium will see them when you open/import the file.

Is there ANY software at all that works under El Capitan? I've resorted to an older MBP with Snow Leopard and bring the output from FCPX there to author a DVD. Take out the chapter markers (and tried adding with FCPX, Compressor, iMovie - all fail) and the burn to a VIDEO_TS folder works fine. Is there no DVD authoring program any longer that will recognize Chapters? iDVD (under El Capitan) reports an error at the instant it goes to render the video section.
